I love birthdays. I had a really great one this past Tuesday. Eric came downstairs finally around 4.30 in the morning and he was being really sweet. We hung out, watched the end of the cell (because Nathen really likes that movie) and then he went upstairs to lock up the office.

At noon his mom came to the house. I wanted to go to the brewery, I remember my first time there was three(or four?) years ago on my birthday and I've made mom and dad go there on theirs. I think it feels special, I love that place, the food is good, and you can always find something new carved into the walls :-) It was nice, Eric's little brothers were with us and so was Sarah, I saw Hayden for the first time too. I remember having lots of conversations on porch swing and it was nice to see her again after all these years.

I got a few awesome gifts from Eric and his mom. She picked out these adorable heart earrings that have all three of my favorite colors swirled in them, a Calvin and Hobbes cartoon book, and the book, Obama's blackberry. Eric 'picked' that one out...but then I saw that his mom has a copy of it too at her house. He also got me a card with a cut out of the ipod touch I'm going to get. I can't wait to get it ordered. I've never had an mp3 player and that one seems sweet.

After lunch we left the brewery and survived the torrential downpour that ensued. It was fun. Poor Vicki and Sarah ran to their cars and got soaked while we waited with the boys. Hayden kept trying to lick the water coming off of the side of the building. Kids. We hopped into the vehicles and got dropped back off at home.

At home Steph and Mike were getting things ready for the cookout. We had to bring the grill up onto the back porch because it kept raining off and on for the rest of the day but regardless Mike made some pretty awesome steaks. My grandparents came over and we all had a great dinner. I made my tomato soup pasta salad the night before, Mom made the cucumber stuff and my favorite, tiramisu cake. She made it last year on my birthday and that was the last time we had it. So that was a great surprise. Steph and Mike got me an pretty cool shelf that I need to see if I can use. I think the first shelf is short for the refrigerator purpose but That doesn't matter, I can find a use for it no matter what.

Well, I wish I would have wrote this sooner, I started to and got busy. I just wanted to remember most of what happened. This was a great birthday even if I didn't get to play backgammon with Nathen like I did last year :p
